Over 200 classical musicians gathered in the Swiss Alps this summer, to participate in the Verbier Festival 2025 Academy – a training programme designed to help emerging singers, soloists, ensembles and engineers develop their skills and careers.

To support this year’s programme, the Academy worked with dCS, HIFI Lausanne Stenheim and Nagra to create a dedicated listening room, where students could discuss influential recordings from the 20th and 21st centuries, learn more about the art of capturing live performances, and explore some of the tools and technologies that are shaping music recording and playback.

The Listening Room was also used to host a series of public events, where critic Charlotte Gardner and GRAMMY-winning producer Mark Willsher – both pictured here – discussed how recording techniques and playback technologies can shape our listening experience.

The system was curated and installed by HIFI Lausanne, and featured four dCS Lina DACs alongside a Vivaldi Clock, with NAGRA AUDIO amplifiers and Stenheim speakers.
