THE ROOM ACOUSTIC TREATMENT…

As many of you are interested into the room acoustics I’m sharing the listening progress of our friend Ostap Nakoneczny…
“Construction has progressed to the point where I am about to put up the drywall on the ceiling and walls. I have wired the room for 11 separate AC lines to feed all the components and have finished with the construction details – such as the four Helmholtz resonators which will be behind the walls. Room dimensions dictated their design in order to help deal with the inherent room modes. The ports will be covered with screens or grills to decrease their visual impact.”

“The decoupling materials have been sourced from AcoustiGuard  via their Toronto, Ontario, Canada distributor – Wilrep Ltd. I’m  using their Iso-Sep PM as the under lay on the floor and high quality vinyl roll flooring on top of the underlay. Sound Channel Acoustic Wall Fabric is glued to the side walls for diffusion and the Art Diffusor Model D that it will be used on the rear wall. Those are sourced through Acoustics First.com. Their site provides 2D and 3D plots showing the dispersion characteristics of all of their diffusion panels – the only company site I know of that does this.”
