Thomas Mayer deeper look into the Raytheon tubes. This company has a long history 90 + years. It was founded in 1922 under the name American Appliance Company and they started with refrigeration technology. Later on they jumped into the tube business with their rectifiers. Those were being essential for their ‘battery eliminator’ that enabled powering radio sets from the AC mains rather than from expensive batteries. Raytheon mystically means ‘light from the gods’ and they kept that name from 1925 as Raytheon Manufacturing Company.
