VERTERE ACOUSTICS SG II PATHFINDER TONEARM — REFINED IMPROVMENT OF THE ORIGINAL

The Vertere Acoustics SG II Pathfinder Tonearm shares only three components with its previous sibling (the SG-1); the fine tracking force weight, the lift lower mechanism, and the silicon nitride triple bearing assembly.

Every other element of SG II’s design and build was carefully recalibrated to improve upon the original.

Weight distribution was fine-tuned to optimise effective mass at the stylus tip, reducing movement and boosting efficiency and information retrieval. Key upgrades include a titanium head shell for better dynamic mass distribution, a heavier dual-axis counterweight with adjustable outriders for azimuth adjustment, a bearing yoke aligned closer to the stylus tip, and a stiffer rolled carbon fibre tube for improved joint connections.

An upgraded aerospace-grade Silicon Carbide/Tungsten Carbide Tri-Pivot bearing delivers ultra-low friction and noise, paired with an austenitic stainless steel central pillar, bearing holder, and pillar clamp. A VTA adjustment collar enables easy, repeatable adjustments, and an improved arm-rest with a new lock secures the arm for transit — alongside a new Penguin transit spacer, eliminating the need for transit screws.
