VIRTUAL HIFI SUPERNOVA OPEN-BAFFLE STATEMENT SPEAKERS

Virtual HiFi has officially launched Supernova, its new three-way passive open-baffle statement loudspeaker designed by Grzegorz Rulka.

Supernova combines two 15-inch SB Audience open-baffle woofers, a 7.5-inch SB Acoustics Satori TeXtreme midrange and a large special-order Mundorf AMT.

The structure uses constrained-layer construction with 3mm steel, 2mm elastomer and a second 3mm steel layer, while the passive crossover features selected components from Mundorf, Jantzen, Duelund and Clarity Cap.

The design goal was to combine the scale and physical presence of a very large loudspeaker with the speed, openness and spatial freedom of a dipole system.

“Supernova started as my personal dream speaker,” says Rulka. “I wanted real scale, colour, density and physical presence without sacrificing speed, openness, space or resolution.”

Supernova is specified at approximately 25Hz–22kHz, 90dB sensitivity and 4Ω nominal impedance.

The loudspeaker is built to order in Poland and is priced at €20,000 per pair including VAT, with worldwide delivery included.
