Weiss HELIOS offers the same uncompromised representation of the music as in professional mastering studios. It maintains the same quality level, with design and features tailored for the high-end hi-fi market.
The HELIOS, a highly anticipated successor to MEDUS, is a professional-level digital-to-analog converter, originating in the Weiss Engineering’s product line for professional mastering engineers – nothing gets between the listener and the music.
High Connectivity
Both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs are available, along with digital inputs in numerous formats. All standard sampling frequencies up to 384 kHz plus DSD x64 and x128 are supported.
Also, the HELIOS functions as a preamp, headphone amp, and a streamer which is both Roon ready and supports the UPnP protocol.
Pure Signal
With its eight-channel 32-bit D/A-converter chip, with four paralleled conversion channels per audio channel, the HELIOS offers exceptional performance.
All analog processing is done with our own discrete operational amplifier modules, the Weiss OP2-BP — arguably one of the best audio operational amplifiers currently available.
Part of the Weiss D/A family
The HELIOS is based on the same digital audio platform as the DAC501 and the DAC502, but of course there are some differences. One example is that the HELIOS sports a different D/A converter and analog output section, with XLR and RCA outputs that can be used to drive line inputs as well as headphones – directly or via a dedicated headphone amplifier.
