Around 1950 EMT started with the design and manufacturing of professional turntables, the first one was developed in cooperation with the German Broadcasting Institute IRT (Institut für Rundfunktechnik) and was called R35. Those days the tonearm was called R36 and the cartridge R37. Not many were made and the R35 was already succeeded in 1951 by the R80 (EMT 927). Via our friend Ing Hans Van Vliet.
