Beside the PCM path with 8 PCM1704 per channel with Trinity patented Lianotec architecture the purest DSD path was added, based around the Wolfson IC which allows a direct DSD path without any signal processing. The electronics behind the DAC ICs are based on a modified gain stage that was designed by Dietmar for the Golden Reference Edition.
There are additional slots for more modules with other DAC architectures.
It is an extreme flexible modular design.
