Speaker project brakes new ground for Thrax.
Thrax is known for electronics using artistic interpretation of proven concepts with a ultra modern twist. Now the same philosophy is applied to electro acoustics. The work done manifest itself as Lyra, a two way stand mount loudspeaker in the well known D’Apolito arrangement. In LYRA Thrax introduces a new type of tweeter featuring a proprietary ultra short horn. The horn/tweeter combination delivers an order of magnitude better intermodulation distortion than most high-end tweeters as well as controlled directivity. The new tweeter allows for lower crossover frequency preventing the bass/midrange units from ever entering breakupmodes.
Lyra is machined from solid aluminium as a sculpture. The acoustic design is based on years of research conducted by the team at www.Spherovox.com using proprietary technologies. Lyra is brought to life in the Thrax tradition of uncompromised construction and exquisite craftsmanship.
As all other Thrax products it is highly addictive, once exposed you are done for life. Beware as it will debut at RMAF in Denver this weekend.
