The external enclosures for the USB 2.0 480Mbps optical fibre interface are almost done and the first functional sample, which has an additional ceramic coating costing roughly 10 times more than “ordinary” anodizing.
This Transmitter can be used with USB 2.0 sources, if you do not want to mount the Transmitter PCB inside of the TRINITY PC & DRIVE or if you own something else as source.
Transmitter is powered from the USB Interface. The matching receiver PCB has to be mounted inside of the DAC, since this part needs an additional power supply and there is a very clean four times regulated 5V power inside of the DAC.
Blue rubber on the optical fibre shows that this one is a mono-mode fibre (maximum distance for a mono-mode fibre Interface is 10km).
