I dont post about the high-end watches (my second “secret” passion) here as I want to keep things in perspective. Yet, recently I’ve found how two legendary watch companies are using the reference of tone and timbre in their advertising efforts. One is Patek Philippe and other Jaeger-LeCoultre. Both of them are referring to the the reference sound quality, tone and timbre of their Minute Repeaters. Here is the Harrods festive season Jaeger-LeCoultre unique promotion:
“Through a collection of new and vintage timepieces Jaeger-LeCoultre reveals the varying melodies, unfailing reliability, precision and the purest possible sound from some of its most iconic minute repeaters. These include one of the first repeater pocket watches from 1895, the Grande Complication pocket watch, housing not only a minute repeater function but chronograph and quantième perpetual; the exceptional master ultra-thin minute repeater and flying tourbillon watch, the eleventh creation of the Hybris Mechanica collection and the Reverso Répétition Minutes a Rideau, an innovative concept watch where a sliding curtain masks one of the Reverso faces and activates the minute repeater.”
